Back home in Vanuatu, I spent several years in the working industry before going to work in a media company. It was mainly a radio and print medium and I was in the administrative department, but my interest in journalism grew. I came back for further studies at the University of the South Pacific in Suva to study for this, as I wanted to be a voice for those who could not speak up, especially my people. Vanuatu is a country that is facing so many effects of Vanuatu, such as relocations due to sea level rising, and extreme weather patterns such as cyclones and famines. This concern for climate change effects and my interest in journalism has led to me joining this team. I hope to learn so much more from all of you.
Hello everyone my name is Harrison Selmen and am a Journalism student at the University of the South Pacific (USP). I am from Vanuatu and this is my first year doing my Bachelor majoring in Politics & Journalism. Journalism is my interest and filming is one of the areas I would like to know more on. Growing up in a country like Vanuatu, Climate change and its impact is one of the major issues that our country is very concern about. Getting involve in ePOP is something I believe will broaden my knowledge and motivate mi to promote more awareness on the issue. I look forward to be part of this exciting team and learn more in the workshop.
