What happened to the lagoon ?

Théophane Henri Sola, a 79-year-old retired fisherman living in Reunion, was one of the first to practice underwater fishing on the island. It recounts the lost beauty of the seabed and deplores the current state of the lagoon: dirtiness, water and coral pollution, diminishing fish resources. For Théophane, it is the chemicals used in agriculture that are the cause of this degradation because during heavy rains the soil runs off in the gullies and ends up in the sea.
